The non-alcoholic drink market is highly saturated, especially in the health food space. Kommunity Brew is a company with a mission – to change Australia’s drinking culture – which is appropriate because they brew small-batch, organic kombucha. Beginning in farmers markets, then local independent grocery stores, they engaged Block to create a brand identity and packaging design that could take them to the next level – national and international supermarkets. Kommunity Brew were looking for brand that drew on their roots, while pushing them forwards, increasing their shelf-presence and allowing them to extend the reach and understanding of the kombucha category as a whole.
Block developed a packaging system for their ranges of kombucha and sparkling water that could place the brand front and centre and show flavour in an interesting way. Housed within a K shape, bespoke, hand-painted marbling artworks were created to communicate the depth, complexity and intensity of the flavour variants and visually represent the experience of each product. Their brandmark builds on their previous identity to create a brand that can exist independently of the product, allow for growth and link strongly to the farmers market beginnings of the business. Kommunity Brew is now ready to take on the world.
