Marawar Capability Statement
Marawar Building Services is an Aboriginal-owned business providing building and maintenance services. They focus on enabling the Aboriginal community to enter the workforce, creating meaningful and long-lasting employment. Block was tasked with creating a brand identity and capability statement which embodies the Marawar vision and communicates their mission – to provide a strong, sustainable future for Aboriginal people.
It was important that Marawar was viewed ‘first’ as a highly professional and effective organisation – one that would deliver quality on time and on budget – and that their story and purpose was seen as ‘additional’ value. The development of the ‘ripple’ device – representing the far-reaching social and cultural effect of the work Marawar does – became a dominant element in their collateral. Each ring of the ripple represents the individual, their family, the business, and ultimately the community they are building. Block interviewed a number of employees, including young Aboriginal apprentices, suppliers and customers of Marawar, delving deeply into the influence and impact working with, and for, an Aboriginal-owned business has had on lives. This content was used to develop more meaningful messaging, ensuring each piece reinforced the greater good that Marawar seeks to do.
